San Tan Valley is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in the northern region of Pinal County, Arizona, United States. As of the 2020 United States Census, it had a population of 99,894, making it not only the most populous CDP in the county but also the largest unincorporated community in all of Pinal County. Despite its size and rapid growth, San Tan Valley has not yet incorporated as a municipality, meaning it lacks a formal city or town government and instead falls under the jurisdiction of the Pinal County government. The area is part of the Phoenix metropolitan region and has experienced significant residential and commercial development in recent decades, driven by its proximity to neighboring cities such as Queen Creek and Gilbert.
